About A Watson Photography

Biography

 

Alex Watson originally from Cootehill Co. Cavan, and now lives in Ballybay Co Monaghan. He enjoyed photography from an early age, but it was not until 2015 that he began to take a more serious look at becoming a photographer. Alex joined Monaghan Photography Society in 2016 and in his first year won the Westendra cup came third in the Advanced section in 2017, he also had three images in the finals of the Irish Photographer Federation, Photographer of the Year 2017 competition. His resently gave a talk on Macro photography to the members of Monaghan Photographic Society followed by a hand’s on demonstration.

As a Photographer he’s describes himself as an all rounder not just sticking to one genre of photography which include Landscapes, Portraits, Commercial, New born, Family, Macro, Wedding & Boudoir photography.

 

Alex is also the rep for Monaghan Photographic Society in the North East region for the Irish Photography Federation, chair of Monaghan Arts Network.

He has also recently Showcased his work in The Market House in Monaghan at the Monaghan Arts  Network Monthly Showcase.

 

Exhibition in July 2019 in the Ulster Canal Stores Clones Visitor Centre displaying his Macro & Wildlife photography as part of our 'Water, Willow and Wildlife' Project in conjunction with Waterways Ireland Heritage Fund. This nature themed exhibit will be on display until 1st September 2019
